Abyasa Ltd is a UK private company developing software for the higher education market. Abyasa provides software for institutions involved in initial teacher education, the placement of students for school based training or on work experience programmes. It currently has a team of developers, project managers, and customer support staff that work together to enhance the student placement experience.
The company founder and director, John McCrae, was a primary school head teacher, before moving into the world of teacher education and becoming the head of School Partnerships at the University of Hertfordshire. He started developing independent software solutions for Higher Education in 2000. SP1 Student Placement software is now successfully running in over 30 institutions across England.
Our customer support continues to receive excellent reviews from all users and our software is seen as a vital tool for managing student teacher development and supporting Ofsted preparation. The main SP1 application is now classified as core software in many institutions and is able to link to data in legacy student management systems, such as, SITS.

All our modules share the same database and support single sign on. Our web-based modules are fully responsive to all screen sizes and are being upgraded to meet the accessibility legislation requirements set out in The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
