Abyasa’s market leading placement software is an ideal solution in university placement administration
Abyasa Ltd is a UK private company developing software for the higher education market. Abyasa provides software for institutions involved in initial teacher education, the placement of students for school based training or on work experience programmes. It currently has a team of developers, project managers, and customer support staff that work together to enhance the student experience.
The company founder and director, John McCrae, was a primary school head teacher, before moving into the world of teacher education and becoming the head of School Partnerships at the University of Hertfordshire. He started developing independent software solutions for Higher Education in 2000. SP1 Student Placement software is now successfully running in over 30 institutions across England.
Our customer support continues to receive excellent reviews form all users and our software is seen as a vital tool for managing student teacher development and supporting Ofsted preparation. The main SP1 application is now classified as core software in many institutions and is able to link to data in legacy student management systems, such as, SITS.
Abyasa helps reduce costs for the university, and eliminates errors in placing students for administrators and academic staff.
Abyasa currently provides a single solution divided into 3 modules with a new totally web based solution on the horizon which will be rolled out during 2021.
Pro The Web Based Module, for students, academic staff and participants from partner institutions.
SP1 The Admin Module, for placement and partnership administrators
Partnership The Web Based Admin Module, for administrators at partner institutions.
SPWeb The successor to SP1 and Partnership providing a single web-based application for University and Partner institutions and their staff.
All our modules share the same database and support single sign on. Our web-based modules are fully responsive to all screen sizes and are being upgraded to meet the accessibility legislation requirements set out in The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
We are here to work with institutions in streamlining the placement process, and we pride ourselves on the customer support we provide to help make this happen. By choosing Abyasa, your institution will be able to select our ‘off the shelf’ product that will support your placement operations and which can be swiftly implemented, or a custom option for more specific placement needs. Either way, you will be guided through our software by our team until you are an expert yourself.
